Windows Live Hotmail is the next generation of web-based email providing internet users with a more advanced email service which is faster, simpler and safer, keeping users connected to the people and information they care about most.
 
Windows Live Hotmail is Microsoft’s new Web mail service, built from the ground up This product launched globally in all markets in May 2007 and will continue to evolve with customer feedback over the coming months. MSN Hotmail customers will be able to use Windows Live Hotmail with their existing Hotmail ID. Consumers can sign up to join Windows Live Hotmail at ideas.live.com. It also offers enhanced protection against publishing, junk email blocks, increased storage space - doubled from 1GB to 2GB, drag and drop options and previews for each message without having to page refresh.
 
Windows Live Hotmail has become the UK’s largest and most famous free web-based email service used by 11.6 million unique users1, twice as many users as the nearest competitor. Since 1996, Hotmail has grown from 8m to 280 million users worldwide.
