Bing offers a unique UK Search experience

 

Bing is the latest example of Microsoft’s commitment to developing products that meet UK consumer and advertiser needs. Key strengths of its offering include:

  • Our acquisition of two European companies - Ciao, the shopping expert’s website, and Multimap, the award-winning mapping site, to enrich the Bing user experience.
  • Work carried out by our London-based Search Technology Centre to develop new features and improve the relevancy of search results, which will deliver a search engine that’s highly relevant to the UK market.  

 

Bing will drive more engaged, converting visitors

 

Bing will make an excellent platform for your search advertising because:

  • Microsoft’s current search platform has already 15.1 million unique users across the UK (up 20% year on year, ComScore March 2009) and has been the highest-converting search engine for over two years (Live Searchers convert twice more than Google, NNR Jan-Mar 2009). The Bing rebranding will make our search engine even more visible to consumers.
  • Bing’s new Categorised Search will produce results which make sense to the UK user, allowing us to deliver the right advertising message to the right consumer when they’re ready to buy.

 

Bing enables us to offer more features to advertisers

 

Microsoft Advertising enables advertisers to use unique demographic, geographic and time targeting tools to make their search campaigns a success. While we continue to work closely with advertisers to deliver the right products, Bing will:  

  • be integrated across the Microsoft Advertising portfolio, allowing advertisers to deliver consumer messages through multiple points of influence (kumo.com, but also MSN, Windows Live Hotmail, Windows Live Messenger).
  • feature new advertising formats and innovative business models already piloted in the US.
