IAB UK
Today the Interactive Advertising Bureau is one of the main trade bodies in the marketing industry, representing almost 200 companies and thousands of UK websites. It is a champion of the new techniques in marketing and is credited with making a significant impact on the market’s growth.
Its focus is on growing the interactive advertising market which it does through a series of market acceleration programmes. Its work has helped accelerate the UK to be the leading online commercial market in Europe and thanks to the IAB the industry has already beaten its 2007 target of matching the size of the radio advertising industry.
The needs of the industry have evolved as the market has rapidly expanded and matured, and with this the IAB’s focus and activities have changed through a constant process of listening to market needs and tuning the response.
IAB UK is part of a worldwide network of 22 IABs, all similar not-for-profit trade bodies that share common goals.

EIAA
The European Interactive Advertising Association is the common voice for the European interactive advertising industry. Its members are European interactive media sellers with a common goal of shaping the future of the interactive advertising business at a pan-European level and increasing the share of spend for online. MSN International is a key member of the EIAA alongside AOL Europe, Yahoo! Europe, Tiscali, AdLINK Internet Media AG, T-Online International, LYCOS Europe and Wanadoo.
The EIAA believes interactive advertising forms a vital part of any integrated marketing campaign. Its activity centres on increasing understanding of the medium through advanced media research projects and effective marketing. Simplifying business processes is also a priority, making it easier for advertisers to undertake online campaigns.
Key projects include the EIAA Media Consumption Study, conducted annually across 10 European countries, which allows the identification of consumer trends and provides a truly pan-European data source for agencies and advertisers. By using their media consumption data and knowledge of the market the EIAA also forecasts online advertising spend patterns and creates tangible goals for the online industry as a whole.
