Microsoft Advertising Announces Eight New Mobile Advertising Partners

BARCELONA, SPAIN – February 16, 2009, 15:00 CET: Today, at Mobile World Congress 2009, Microsoft announced that several major European mobile publishers and network operators have chosen Microsoft as their mobile advertising partner.  The announcement builds on the company’s continued momentum in the mobile advertising space, following the acquisition of ScreenTonic and the roll out of advertising opportunities on Microsoft’s owned and operated mobile services – including Windows Live Messenger Mobile, Windows Live Hotmail Mobile and MSN Mobile.

Operators to choose Microsoft Advertising Mobile Media include Mobistar (Orange Group) and BASE, the second and the third largest mobile operators in Belgium respectively. The six new publisher signings further extend the Microsoft Advertising Mobile Media network, enabling advertisers additional opportunities to connect with their target audiences throughout the digital day - at home, at work and on the go.

New publishers now part of Microsoft’s mobile media network: 

  • eFinancialNews and Private Equity News - the financial and private equity news sites,  part of Dow Jones and - the financial and private equity news sites,  part of Dow Jones
  • El Mundo Deportivo - the third largest daily sports newspaper in Spain
  • Le Parisien.fr – The mobile site of Le Parisien-Aujourd’hui en France, the first daily newspaper in France
  • Le Post.fr - the first French interactive mobile site
  • La Vanguardia - the third largest daily newspaper in Spain
  • WAYN - the fast growing mobile travel site in France, Spain and the UK and - the financial and private equity news sites,  part of Dow Jones - the third largest daily sports newspaper in Spain 
     
Each of these new mobile advertising partners will take advantage of Microsoft’s complete mobile offering, including media sales, ad serving and optimisation.
