The User Experience
User visits the MSN Home Page.
Two display ad units are presented to the end user: the 300x250 display ad and the 300x165 spotlight element, which presents them with a rich media experience.
A small floating element appears on the page, tying the two display ad units together and drawing the user’s attention.
The floating experience is frequency-capped to 1 per user, per 24 hours. Users who visit the page more than once in a 24-hour period will see the 300x250 and 300x165 display ad units.
Ad Specifications
Creative must feature a 1 pixel border (gray [#666666] or black recommended, though any color that clearly distinguishes the ad from the content may be used)
Audio
Audio is not permitted within the execution's floating component; calls to action for audio are not permitted in the unit's floating component.
Click-initiated audio is permitted in either the 300x250 display ad or the 300x165 spotlight element; click-initiated companion audio is accepted in either the 300x250 display ad or 300x165 spotlight in executions that leverage video.
Video
Video is not permitted within the execution's floating component; calls to action for video are not permitted in the unit's floating component.
Host-initiated video may be used in any portion of the 300x250 display ad or 300x165 spotlight.
Video duration: 30 seconds.
All companion audio must be click-initiated by the user.
a. If audio is used, creative must include a mute button or automatic on/off toggle.
Video replays must be user-initiated.
Floating Component
The floating component is not intiated by the user but intended as an accent piece to draw the user’s eye to the two display ad units.
Frequency cap: 1 Per User, per 24-hour period
Must have a close button

Maximum stage size (transparent layer): 500x500
Maximum size (non-transparent object layer): 200x200
Object may not take the shape of an exact square or rectangle
Object may not pause over content for longer than 1 second
Additional Creatives
Video and other “politely” downloaded assets are acceptable.
The maximum size for any video asset is 2.2MB.
Other Specifications
Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 to 8.0 are supported.
Firefox is a supported browser on a case-by-case basis (dependent upon test results and execution design).
Limited support may be provided for Safari based on test results.
In cases in which a browser is not supported (i.e. Firefox or Mac browsers), users will receive the backup image.

Data Reported
Third-party impression and click-tags can be implemented for the full flash experience. Currently we do not support third-party party tracking for back-up clicks and impressions. MSN is able to capture this data and provide back-up clicks and impressions.

Data Collection
Microsoft permits advertisers to collect user-provided personal information (for example, through web forms embedded in ads).
Advertisers may be required to modify ad units or provided additional disclosure in order to be acceptable for advertising on Microsoft sites.
Advertisers wishing to collect personal information within advertisements (according to specifications above) must follow these guidelines:
Clearly identify organisation
Provide link to privacy policy (usually adjacent to the web form’s “submit” button)
