What File Types Does Microsoft Accept?

Acceptance differs between ad placements. Check the Ad Formats section to know what file types are acceptable within a given ad placement. Your Microsoft Sales Representative can also ensure that you have the information necessary for your particular ad placement selection.

Options NOT Supported by Microsoft Advertising
  1. Java—Microsoft does not support JAVA (not to be confused with JavaScript), due to security issues, in addition to performance issues and initial load times.
  2. Ad code that contains ILAYER, LAYER, or NOLAYER tags is not accepted by Microsoft due to cross-browser compatibility and stability issues.
  3. Mail-to fields are not accepted by Microsoft as we cannot ensure the user will have a consistently good experience using ads with this functionality (the user may not have e-mail, their e-mail may not be configured to accept this functionality, etc.).
