Users are exposed to above the fold Tabs with the launch of Messenger Client. Using the arrows on the right bottom corner, they can review the below the fold Tab icons. When a user clicks on a Tab Icon, Tab will be launched outside Messenger Window; within the Messenger Today Window. When user click on a separate tab icon, the content within Tab will automatically change. In a default Messenger Client, users will be exposed to 7 above the fold Tabs. When a user expands the Messenger Client window, below the fold Tabs will move to above the fold. When the user contracts the Messenger Client window, above the fold Tabs move to below the fold.

Three creative elements need to be delivered to Microsoft Advertising:
1) Tooltip
2) Icon URL
3) Content URL
4) Advertiser Name
Tooltip:
This is a short phrase that appears when the user rests the pointer over the Messenger Tab icon. The ToolTip can be the name of the client’s company or product, a description of features offered by this Messenger Tab, or a company tag line or slogan. This text should be localized to the appropriate language before you submit your Messenger Tab to Microsoft Advertising. Tool Tip text length should not exceed 65 characters.

Icon URL:
An external URL that links to the thumbnail graphic for the Messenger Tab. The hosting of this content is the responsibility of the client. This URL can be loaded into a normal browser to preview the Messenger Tab.
(example) The thumbnail graphic must be: http://cp.intl.match.com/plc/msntab/s_img/icons/heart_msnuk.png
- In 24X24 pixels (24w x 24h)
- A Portable Network Graphics (PNG) file format with alpha (variable) transparency.
- Static
- 96 DPI
- No larger than 5 KB in size
- Designed so that it can be clearly seen in either a dimmed or regular state

Content URL:
This is a URL that points to the Messenger Tab content file. The hosting of this content is the responsibility of the client and/or the local Microsoft Advertising office.
This URL can also be loaded into a normal browser to preview the Messenger Tab.
(example) http://cp.intl.match.com/plc/msntab/en-uk/m/index.html
The size of the Messenger Tab is 555 pixels wide and 450 pixels high.
If the content does not require scrolling, the following adjustment needs to be made by the partner:
"Overflow" properties should be set to "auto".
Vertical scrollbar should be disabled.
When “&” is used in urls, “amp;” needs to be added. Otherwise the XML will not be able to translate.

Advertiser Name:
This is a one or two word title of your tab. This will display in the UI in the title bar of the shared window and in the overflow menu of the tab bar. It is also visible within the file>menu tabs list.

Name length should not exceed 25 characters.
Data Reported:
Data is reported for each tab.
Impressions – Each time the Messenger Client is launched, each live Tab icon gets one impression (both for above and below the fold Tabs).
Clicks – The number of times a user clicks on Tab icon
Note: A Messenger Tab is hosted externally. Therefore Microsoft Advertising can not report anything around interaction within Tabs.
