Internet Display Advertising Jumps 17 Percent
Spending on Internet display advertising showed double-digit growth throughout much of last year, according to a study released by TNS Media Intelligence.
 
The increase of 17.2 percent to $8.4 billion took place in the first nine months of 2007, compared with the same months of 2006. The Internet made up 7.7 percent of the total media ad spend, increasing from the 2006 level of 6.6 percent.
 
Advertising expenditures as a whole increased slightly to $108.2 billion. The 1.3 percent increase during the third quarter of 2007 reversed a slight downward trend seen in the first half of the year.
