The Upgrade to Content AdsBeta in “Search Only” Distribution form has closed. You can still adjust your distribution after August 29. To turn off Content Ads after the upgrade, follow these instructions.
To turn off Content Ads from one of your ad groups follow these steps:
- On the Select a campaign page, click the campaign that contains the ad group that you want to work with.
- On the Select an ad group page, click the ad group that you want to run only on Search Ads.
- Click the Ad Group Settings tab.
- Under Target your customers, click Select ad distribution.
- Clear the Content check box.
- Click Save.
If you’d like to turn off Content Ads at the campaign level, follow these steps:
- Click the Campaigns tab.
- To change the settings for specific campaigns, select the check boxes next to those campaigns.
- Click Bulk edit.
- In the Edit settings for multiple campaigns section, from the Campaign settings drop-down list, select Content distribution, and click Apply.
It’s important to keep in mind that once you’ve turned off the content distribution option via Bulk Edit, you will have to manually adjust each ad
group if you want to turn content distribution back on at a later time.
Note: Turning off the content distribution only applies to existing ad groups. New ad groups will automatically expand to hybrid distribution,
meaning they will distribute to search and content pages.
