Tips for Content Development

Avoid Common Errors
To create professional-looking ads, use correct spelling and readable grammar. It’s fine to use shortened versions of words that reflect common usage, and character substitution for some words, such as ampersands, but don’t use gimmicky spelling and jargon. Phone numbers may not appear within an ad. The following guidelines and examples can help you apply the grammar guidelines correctly.

Grammar Guidelines
Make sure that your ads follow these simple rules:
  • No exclamation points in ad titles.
  • No repeated or unnecessary use of punctuation, symbols or characters.
  • No capitalization of entire words unless they are normally written that way.
  • No repetition of words.
  • Use correct grammar.
  • Use numbers, letters and symbols in a way that reflects normal speech.
