Modify Conversion Tracking

You can fine-tune your ad campaigns by tracking conversions, which occur each time a customer clicks your ad and then completes a transaction—such as a purchase or service request. You can easily turn conversion tracking on or off at any time.

To use this feature, you'll need to add a small code snippet to your web site.

To start conversion tracking:

  1. Get the code snippet from within Microsoft adCenter.
  2. To paste the code snippet anywhere within the HTML body tags of the web pages that you want to track, press CTRL+V.

Note:

The code snippet displays an adCenter text link on your web page. Conversion tracking works at the campaign level. The same tracking code applies to all campaigns within an account. When you turn on conversion tracking, adCenter tracks all ads and ad groups within all campaigns for the account.

To stop conversion tracking:

  1. On the Select a campaign page, select the campaign you want to edit.
  2. On the Select an ad group page, click Edit campaign settings.
  3. On the Change campaign settings page, under Conversion tracking, clear the Track conversions check box.
  4. Remove the code snippet that you placed within the HTML body tags of your conversion web pages.

Note:

When you stop conversion tracking, you can still view in your reports the conversion data that was collected while conversion tracking was enabled. However, conversion data will no longer be reported after you stop conversion tracking.
