Change a Keyword

At this time, it isn't possible to replace a keyword while keeping its associated settings (negative keywords, dynamic text). However, you can add a new keyword and then delete the keyword you want to replace.
  1. Click the Campaigns tab.
  2. On the Select a campaign page, click the name of the campaign that contains the ad group you want to change the keyword for.
  3. On the Select an ad group page, click the ad group that contains the keyword you want to change.
  4. Click Edit keywords.
  5. Add the new keyword.
  6. a. In the keyword entry box, type the new keyword, and then click Add to keyword list.
    b. In the keyword table, add any negative keywords or dynamic text associated with the keyword you are replacing.
  7. Delete the keyword you want to replace. 
    a. Select the check box next to the keyword.

    b. Click Actions, and then click Delete.

    c. Click OK, and then click Continue.

  8. On the Pricing page, set the bid for the new keyword, and then click Save.

Notes
  • Every ad group requires at least one keyword. If you choose to delete all of the keywords in an ad group, you need to add at least one new keyword.
  • Each keyword can contain up to 100 characters, including spaces.
