Tips and Tricks: Bulk Editing Negative Keywords

Bulk editing files in Excel is a quick and easy alternative to updating keywords through the adCenter UI. With the time you save with this handy trick, you can spend more time analyzing adCenter reports and coming up with new strategies to maximize your daily or monthly adCenter spend.

To bulk edit negative keywords at the campaign level, follow these steps:

  1. Sign in to Microsoft adCenter. 
  2. Click the Campaigns tab. 
  3. To change the settings for specific campaigns, select the check boxes next to those campaigns.
  4. Click Bulk editNote:  If you do not select any campaign check boxes, adCenter will assume that you want to apply the changes to all your campaigns. 
  5. In the Edit settings for multiple campaigns section, confirm that Negative keyword is selected in the Campaign setting drop-down list. 
  6. Enter all the negative keywords that you want to include. Separate them with commas and then click Apply.  

  
Note:
Negative keywords that are specified at the ad group level will override the default values that are designated at the campaign level. If you already have negative keywords at the ad group level and want to add more negative keywords at the campaign level, those negative keywords at the ad group level will not be replaced by the campaign-level negative keywords. However, those ad groups that do not have any negative keywords associated with them will have the campaign-level negative keywords associated with them.
