This half-day event looked at how Microsoft Advertising can help advertisers to navigate through the many opportunities offered by digital and featured presentations on gaming, the creative innovation possible on our network, latest research and insights into how the internet is changing the fabric of daily life

The Intimacy of Online
Anita Caras, Research Manager, Microsoft Advertising
Anita drew on the findings from a number Microsoft research studies to highlight the importance of intimacy online.  He showed that users get their information online by following a familiar path that is rather like living in an online village.  Advertising therefore has to respect the intimacy of the user experience and not invade their personal space.

Jeffrey Cole, Research Professor and Director, USC Annenberg School for Communication

Drawing on eight years of data and insights from a worldwide study, Jeff separated myth from reality as he described how the internet and mobile technology are changing the fabric of daily life for teenagers as well as their parents. Jeff is a renowned expert who has advised governments and leading companies around the world on digital strategies.

Innovation and Creativity across the Microsoft network

We talked about how innovation and creativity is possible across our network, utilising products from the MSN portal, through to in-game, mobile, Xbox and new technologies including Silverlight. He stressed the importance of engaging consumers to create a dialogue using high quality personal content that people want.
