Wow what a great week for the marketing and advertising industry in London last week - 3 cheers for the AdWeek team, well done on successful, second AdWeek Europe.  Microsoft Advertising looks forward to partnering with you for AWE 2015.

Here are my 8 Microsoft highlights from Advertising Week Europe (in no particular order):

1 - THINGS I WISH I’D KNOWN THEN: PERSPECTIVES ON 30 YEARS IN THE AD BUSINESS

Kathleen Hall, General Manager, Global Campaigns and Brand Marketing at Microsoft spoke about 7 key lessons learned from over 30 incredible years in the Advertising business— from being brave to why bigger was not always better.

Kathleen was also voted in the Guardian’s 10 women to watch at Advertising Week Europe 2014

Watch Kathleen’s seminar now.

This is just one of the great tweets from Kathleen’s seminar

2 – Microsoft’s real-time infographics powered by Bing

During Advertising Week Europe the Microsoft Advertising UK research team produced a series of insightful infographics in real time, based on the hot topic of the moment using the Bing Ads Intelligence tool.  This proved to be very popular, here is just a taster of the positive coverage we received:

3 - CONSUMING LIVE EVENTS: INFORMATION, INTERACTION, AND INNOVATION
David Rothschild, Microsoft Research Economist, spoke about big data analytics and how to leverage data modelling for business to allow advertisers to predict behaviour and outcomes, discussing what this means for them. Amazingly David has accurately predicted 50 of 51 states correct during the US 2012 election, and 21 of 24 Oscars winners and used these examples to explain his modelling.

Listen to the BBC World Service - Big Data: Big Problems episode with David or watch a 2 minute video from Campaign: Microsoft’s prediction guru Rothschild on data science in advertising

4 - BEYOND TECHNOLOGY: DESIGNING FOR PEOPLE

Michael Dwan Senior Director, MICROSOFT shared a few of Microsoft’s next-generation concepts, creatively bringing people what they want, and in turn, opening up dynamic ways for marketers to connect with audiences

Read the Drum’s article “We can’t rest on our laurels” as Michael Dwan outlines next wave of innovation.
