Tim Lumb is the Research Manager for Microsoft Advertising UK. He uses his 10 years of media research knowledge to help Microsoft Advertising deliver thought leadership to the advertising community. Lumb is the representative for Microsoft Advertising in IAB Research Council and he works on communicating online and Microsoft advertising to the wider community and trade associations. Lumb joined Microsoft in 2006 as the Market Insight Manager for EMEA, managing online and cross media advertising effectiveness studies across markets. Prior to joining Microsoft, Lumb spent time at Emap Automotive as a Senior Researcher across consumer and B2B motoring media. Lumb's interest in research began early in his career, finishing with a degree in Archaeology from Leicester University. His natural geekery extends into cinema, music and gaming. He plays drums and claims to have been in some of the most awful, and thankfully unknown, bands that have never recorded. He describes his crimes against coolness as "extensive"
