Today, with the U.S. launch of Windows Phone 7, Microsoft Advertising’s U.S.-based in-app ad solution for Windows Phone 7 is also live, enabling advertisers to reach this new and growing audience with relevant and engaging advertising experiences, as well as providing a new platform for Windows Phone 7 application developers in the U.S. to monetize their apps.
Windows Phone 7 App developers and publishers in the U.S. have already recognized the benefits of our in-app ad solution for Windows Phone 7, anchored by the world’s first real time bidded ad exchange in mobile and our expertise in behavioral targeted advertising. Since its debut in mid-September, the Microsoft Advertising SDK for Windows Phone 7 has been downloaded over 3,000 times and more than 500 ad-funded apps are in our network, including our owned and operated properties like MSN Stocks, as well as third party titles.
In the coming months, we expect the advertising inventory to grow with the popularity of Windows Phone 7 and with our continued engagement with the developer community to grow our in-app ad network.
This is just the beginning.
In 2011, we plan to roll out these offerings in Europe and other markets, and will expand both the reach and functionality of our in-app advertising solution.
For advertisers looking to reach a broader smartphone audience, we encourage to reach out to our mobile sales specialists, and if you’re a developer looking to monetize your Windows Phone 7 application, look no further than the Microsoft Advertising SDK for Windows Phone 7.
