As everyone in the industry knows, New York City is THE place to be today as Advertising Week kicks off! There has never been a more exciting time for our industry. Consumers are in control - engaging and participating with brands in a totally different way. Microsoft is responding with media experiences that consumers love across all types of screens from their mobile device to the PC to the living room. We are excited this week to show how we help brands engage these audiences in entertaining and delightful ways across the globe.
Creating brand campaigns across multiple screens and reaching people wherever they are online and offline will be a strong focus for us this week. We are energizing both marketers and consumers by extending the multi-screen approach to new levels by integrating Microsoft’s consumer innovations, like Kinect and Windows Phone 7. Darren Huston, our global leader of Consumer & Online – along with Paul Edwards of General Motors, will deliver the IAB/MIXX keynote featuring an update on the exciting Chevrolet campaign with Kinect for Xbox 360.
At my session on Tuesday at 2pm at the Times Center I’ll be discussing how entertainment brands are using the web to engage targeted audiences—the innovation in marketing we will discuss is really fantastic. Entertainment is an industry that’s constantly creatively pushing the envelope in immersive digital marketing and one that consumers are demanding and expecting immersive multi-screen experiences.
Advertising week is a great time to celebrate the value of partnerships. Microsoft is totally committed to partner with agencies and marketers to help them navigate this constantly changing landscape. We understand the importance of creative and campaigns being idea led and we are obsessively focused on delivering results . In my first 90 days, I’ve already learned that being able to offer marketers innovation, technology creativity and incredible scale is what will differentiate the players in this fascinating space.
