It’s the final countdown to Advertising Week. Our team is charging our flip videos, cameras, and laptops so that we can bring the event directly to you throughout the week.

Last week I interviewed CVP Scott Howe. Scott will be keynoting at Advertising Week and I loved his insight during our interview where he makes a bold statement that the silver bullet creative idea is dead and that this has been replaced by silver buckshot where all elements in a campaign tie up into a single theme. He also touches on the multi-screen topic that he will be covering at Advertising Week on Tuesday the 22nd. If you haven’t seen Scott speak I highly encourage you to attend – you won’t be disappointed. If you can’t attend the event I’ll be tweeting from @msadvertising – so you can follow the play by play.
I was also able to touch base last week with Charles Johnson, GM in Microsoft Advertising Mobile. Mobile is a hot topic at advertising week with multiple sessions and panels. Charles let us know that there will be some announcements at Advertising Week so stay tuned on how the landscape will be changing throughout the week – we will be posting all of that news on our Advertising Week site. Charles and I also discussed how MSFT is positioned to play in the mobile space….now only time can tell…but from all of my industry news it sounds like 2011 is going to be the year of the mobile explosion – so it’s a topic to follow.
